Quavo speaks at Harris campaign rally in Atlanta

The rapper spoke on gun violence prevention, something he and Harris discussed during another one of the VP's visits to Atlanta this summer.

ATLANTA — Rapper Quavo, an Atlanta native and Migos member, spoke at Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign rally in Atlanta on Tuesday night.

Reports of his appearance at the event came the day of the rally and the night after rapper Megan Thee Stallion confirmed she would perform at the rally.

Quavo showed support for Harris and discussed their collaborative work toward gun violence prevention awareness.

"One thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris, is she always stand on business," he said. "If you never voted before, make sure you get out and vote right now, 'cause this the real one."

Gun violence awareness prevention is a topic Quavo and Harris discussed in Atlanta earlier this summer at Quavo's Rocket Foundation Summit. The rapper launched the foundation after his nephew and Migos group member, Takeoff, was shot to death in Houston in 2022.

"You can't understand the struggles of gun violence if you're not in the field or in the heart of it," Quavo said.

This rally is Harris' sixth visit to Georgia this year and her 15th during her tenure as vice president. It is her first as the de facto Democratic presidential nominee.

Quavo's speech and Megan Thee Stallion's performance mark the latest in a long roster of celebrities showing support- for Harris' campaign, which has quickly gained massive support in the time since President Joe Biden announced he was ending his reelection campaign.
