When is each state's Caucus or Primary?

The Iowa Caucus kicks the nation off on Jan. 15, but when do other states' presidential primaries and caucuses take place?

MOLINE, Ill. — With the arrival of the Iowa caucuses, the 2024 presidential election is on everyone's minds. 

For those who want to follow the presidential caucuses and primaries, here's the schedule for each state and territory according to the Federal Election Commission:

January

  • Iowa Republicans are holding their caucus on Jan. 15. Democrats will release the results of their preference on Super Tuesday, March 5. 
  • New Hampshire is holding its presidential primary on Jan. 23. 

February

  • South Carolina will hold its Democratic primary on Feb. 3 and its Republican primary on Feb. 24. 
  • Nevada is holding its presidential primary on Feb. 6. The Republican caucus will be held Feb. 8.
  • The Virgin Islands Republicans will hold their caucus on Feb. 8. Democrats have not released a date for their caucus.
  • Michigan is holding its presidential primary on Feb. 17. 

March

  • Missouri Republicans are holding their caucus on March 2. Democrats will hold a party-run primary on March 23.
  • Idaho Republicans are holding their caucus on March 2. Democrats will hold a caucus on May 23.
  • North Dakota Republicans will hold their caucus on March 4. Democrats will hold a party-run primary on April 6.
  • Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia will hold their presidential primaries on Super Tuesday, March 5. 
  • American Samoa Democrats will hold their caucuses on March 5. Republicans have not released a date for their caucus.
  • Utah Republicans will hold a caucus on March 5. Democrats will hold a party-run primary on the same day.
  • Georgia, Mississippi and Washington will hold their presidential primaries on March 12. 
  • Hawaii Republicans will hold their caucus on March 12. Democrats will hold a party-run primary on April 6.
  • Northern Mariana Islands Democrats will hold a party-run primary on March 12. Republicans have not released a date for their caucus.
  • Puerto Rico Democrats will hold their party-run primary on March 17. Republicans have not released a date for their party-run primary.
  • Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas and Ohio will hold their presidential primaries on March 19. 
  • Louisiana will hold its presidential primary on March 23. 

April

  • Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Rhode Island and Wisconsin will hold their presidential primaries on April 2. 
  • Alaska Democrats are holding a party-run primary on April 6. Republicans have not released a date for their caucus.
  • Wyoming Democrats will hold their caucus on April 13. Republicans will hold precinct caucuses from Feb. 1 to Feb. 18.
  • Pennsylvania will hold its presidential primary on April 23. 

May

  • Indiana will hold its presidential primary on May 7. 
  • Maryland, Nebraska and West Virginia will hold their presidential primaries on May 14. 
  • Kentucky and Oregon will hold their presidential primaries on May 21. 

June

  • The District of Columbia, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota will hold their presidential primaries on June 4. 
  • Guam Democrats will hold the last caucus on June 8. Republicans have not released a date for their caucus.
