Robert F. Kennedy Jr. campaign submits signatures to get on Georgia ballot, official says

Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling posted a photo of the signature drop-off on Tuesday.

ATLANTA — The campaign for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. submitted petitions Tuesday to appear on the ballot in Georgia, a top state election official said.

Gabriel Sterling, the chief operating officer in the Georgia Secretary of State's Office, posted a picture of the petitions being dropped off on X.

Sterling noted that other third-party candidates also earlier submitted signatures. That included Claudia de la Cruz of the Party for Socialism and Liberation and professor, and professor, activist and social commentator Dr. Cornel West, who is running an independent campaign.

Kennedy Jr. is also running an independent campaign. In New York Times polling in May, RFK Jr. had roughly 9% support in Georgia.

The next step for the other candidates in the Peach State, Sterling posted, "is for counties to verify signatures" before it is confirmed they can appear on the ballot. They each needed to collect 7,500 signatures from Georgia voters to meet the submission hurdle.
