ATLANTA -- 'Scandal' star Tony Goldwyn, known for his role as President Fitzgerald Grant in the hit TV series, took a step into the real world of politics Sunday, when he helped open a campaign office for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Goldwyn was present from 1 to 4 p.m. at the location to campaign for Clinton and open her latest office on Walker Street, near Atlanta's University Center.
According to an official release, the new office will serve as a hub for organizing activity in Atlanta and in the state of Georgia, which shows signs of becoming a key state in the election.
Goldwyn, who has been in the film and television for more than 20 years, has been campaigning and appearing on behalf of Clinton during the 2016 election. The actor spoke during the recent Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
With fewer than 100 days left until election day, Goldwyn spoke to supporters and volunteers, who will host phone banks, organize meetings and canvass for Clinton from the news office.
