Sen. Warnock talks Kamala Harris, campaign strategy during Meet the Press interview

Warnock's appearance comes just two days before the presidential election.

ATLANTA — Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock joined NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday to discuss the state of the race ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.

In his interview, Warnock continued to put his confidence behind Kamala Harris, referring to her as a candidate who wants to "turn the page forward" compared to Trump, who he argued seeks to take the country backward.

The remarks came following questions from NBC's Kristen Welker regarding desires for change from voters and which candidate he felt best exemplified that.

Warnock also responded to questions regarding President Biden's recent remarks, where he seemed to refer to supporters of Donald Trump as "garbage." The remarks followed backlash against the Trump campaign after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe referred to the U.S. island territory of Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage" at a rally last week.

"I think we all need to elevate the character and tone of our political discourse," the Georgia senator remarked.

And finally, Warnock was pressed on Harris' standing with Black voters, which Welker argued is trailing behind even where Joe Biden stood with the demographic.

However, Warnock stood by his confidence that Black voters would nevertheless turn up for Harris, and he wasn't too concerned with what polling shows at that moment, adding, "The race will be decided on Tuesday."
