Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams not ruling out another run for office, says 'all options are on the table'

The two-time Georgia gubernatorial candidate made the comments during an interview on The Georgia Vote

ATLANTA — Stacey Abrams is keeping the door open to another run for office in 2026.

"All options are on the table," the Democrat said during an interview on 11Alive's Sunday politics show, The Georgia Vote.

Georgia will have an open race for governor in 2026. Current Gov. Brian Kemp is term limited and cannot run again. Abrams previously ran against Kemp in 2018 and 2022, losing both times.

During her Georgia Vote interview, the two-time gubernatorial candidate never committed outright to another campaign but called it "one of the tools in the toolbox."

"If you want to make life better, that's one of the things you do," she added.

Abrams emphasized that her focus now was on Kamala Harris' campaign for the presidency.

"Through Vice President Harris and Governor Walz, we can show not only America but the world that Georgia is always going to be on the forefront of moving this country forward and I'm excited to do what I can to make that so," said Abrams.

The former gubernatorial candidate and current Democratic party organizer emphasized Georgia's critical role in the upcoming presidential election.

"We are a battleground state and what that means is people have to fight to win Georgia," said Abrams. "This is about our future. This is about our freedom. And we have a chance in this election to restart the narrative of Georgia and the U.S. being a beacon of democracy and a beacon of freedom."
