ATLANTA — Showing support with an exclusive pair of sneakers, one Donald Trump supporter shined from the tarmac with the former president's kicks.
It's a gold high-top with an American flag on the back, titled the "Never Surrender High-Top." The shoes are shiny but branded to help Trump regain his presidential title and the kicks were shining on the tarmac as his plane landed, worn by a supporter.
"It's completely rare," Dom Lucre, a metro Atlanta social media influencer who anxiously awaited Trump's arrival for the 2024 Presidential Debate in Atlanta at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport.
The shoes sold on a Get Trump Sneakers website for $399 are now sold out. According to an Associated Press report, the website said it had no connection to Trump’s campaign, though Trump campaign officials promoted the appearance in online posts.
The website also sold "Victory47" cologne and perfume and other tennis shoes while with the number 45 on it to represent his presidential term.
"The only sneakers released by a president. You got sneakers released by athletes, rappers, etc. only political sneakers and not only just that they are sold out, Lucre added. "So it's a hot commodity and it has the demand to match the supply."
The former president arrived around 5:30 p.m. to chants from supporters hearing him on. He will be participating in Thursday's night debate at 9 p.m. at CNN Studios.
