Known for her inspiring words and eloquent delivery, Gorman took the stage on August 21 to share a new poem.

CHICAGO — Amanda Gorman, the nation’s youngest inaugural poet, captivated audiences once again at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, prompting many to find out more about her.

Known for her inspiring words and eloquent delivery, Gorman took the stage on August 21 to share a new poem emphasizing themes of love, freedom, and the enduring spirit of the American people.

Gorman, who rose to fame with her poem "The Hill We Climb" during President Joe Biden’s inauguration, is a powerful voice for change. At the DNC, she reminded the country of the importance of unity and resilience during challenging times.

Born in Los Angeles in 1998, Gorman has broken barriers since her youth. After becoming the first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate in 2017, she graduated from Harvard University in 2020. Despite facing a speech impediment, she has used her platform to advocate for social justice, racial equality, and climate action, making her one of the most influential voices of her generation.
