A new call was raised for a criminal investigation into R. Kelly's behavior behind closed doors, but an investigation into the R&B star is not currently in progress , officials said Friday.
In July, an explosive Buzzfeed report accused R. Kelly of luring young women into his inner circle and keeping them against their will inside his homes in a 'cult'-like atmosphere.
The R&B star has denied the allegations.
But on Friday, Atlanta mayoral candidate John Eaves – currently the Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners – renewed calls for a full criminal investigation by the district attorney's office.
He said investigators had uncovered new information surrounding the allegations against Kelly that “severely raised the level of concern."
The district attorney's office said they are "evaluating" the new file, but there is currently no investigation.
"We are in the process of evaluating the file. Once the evaluation is complete, we will take the appropriate action," Fulton County district attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said in a statement sent to USA TODAY. "We are not investigating Mr. Kelly; we are merely reviewing the informational file provided by the Johns Creek Police Department.”
In a new statement sent to USA TODAY by Kelly's rep, Trevian Kutti, the singer said he is "outraged" by efforts of the county board and Eaves "to interfere with his business interests and now, absent any authority, attempt to have him targeted for investigation."
Earlier Friday, Johns Creek Police Lt. Chris Byers 11Alive that “there is no new evidence in the closed investigation.”
Fulton County commissioners previously voted unanimously to send a letter to Live Nation to shut down an upcoming Kelly concert in Atlanta on Aug. 25, but Live Nation, which runs his tour, has said the concert will proceed.

In his statement, Kelly called it "unlawful" for the government to interfere with citizens legally conducting business, and said public servants "should not target individual citizens for their own politically motivated purposes."
Kelly recently canceled shows in New Orleans, Dallas, Los Angeles and Baton Rouge, La.
Though Kelly keeps a primary residence in Chicago, legal grounds to pursue Kelly in Georgia spring from a home he formerly rented in the Atlanta area.
Parents of an Atlanta woman said to be living with R. Kelly spoke out on July 17, with the woman's father, Tim Savage, saying that his 22-year-old daughter, Jocelyn Savage, was “being held against her will” and the last time he saw her she was in “a horrible condition.”
Jocelyn Savage has released two videos saying she is fine.
