ATLANTA — Another rapper finds himself in trouble in metro Atlanta, this time for a fight at a hotel.
Police say rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested for his role in a scuffle Monday afternoon.
Atlanta Police responded to a fight call at the Hyatt House hotel off Marietta Street in Downtown Atlanta. According to police, housekeeping employees entered a room that was supposed to be empty, but were confronted by Gaulden and another female occupant.
Police say Gaulden told the woman, later identified as Starr Thigpen, to get the staff out of the room. That's when police say Thigpen hit one of the employees in the face, starting a fight that spilled into the hallway until another employee could run to get help.
When police arrived, Gaulden and Thigpen were still in the hallway outside of their room. Gaulden was charged with Disorderly Conduct-Use of fight words and possession of marijuana-less than an oz. Thigpen was charged with Disorderly Conduct-Act of violence toward another, and possession of marijuana-less than an oz.
Both were taken to the Atlanta City Jail.
This marks the fifth arrest of a high-profile rapper in Atlanta in the past few weeks. Bow Wow, Lil Baby, 21 Savage and Young Nudy all made headlines for various, unrelated incidents.
