BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — The attorney for Colin Gray, the father of the alleged shooter in the Apalachee High School tragedy, has filed a motion to withdraw from the case.

11Alive obtained court records that show the motion of Arnold Ragas to remove himself from representing Colin Gray, who faces two second-degree murder, four involuntary manslaughter and eight child cruelty charges after his son, Colt Gray, allegedly shot and killed four people inside the high school the morning of Sept. 4.

The motion states that Ragas requested to remove himself after private attorneys filed an Entry of Appearance to represent Colin Gray on Sept. 11.

Ragas, who is the deputy director of the Georgia Public Defender Council, also asked that he and the Georgia Public Defender Council be relieved of all future representation of Colin Gray.
