ATLANTA — Applications are now open for businesses that were impacted by Atlanta's water main breaks in May to apply for a grant to receive funds.
Eligible small businesses can now apply for the City of Atlanta Recovery Fund, which opened Monday at 8 a.m. The fund offers grant money for small businesses and their employees impacted by the Atlanta water main breaks, which shut down some businesses for days.
11Alive spoke with Invest Atlanta about the application process and what business owners need to know.
Here's a breakdown of everything businesses should know about the fund:
Who can apply for the City of Atlanta Recovery Fund?
"All the businesses within the boil advisory map area," President and CEO of Invest Atlanta Dr. Eloisa Klementich said. "As long as you’re in either map of those, you qualify."
Invest Atlanta said it is prioritizing businesses that were most directly impacted, like daycares, salons and restaurants.

How much money could my business receive?
Invest Atlanta said eligible businesses can apply for grants up to $10,000.
"You’ll fit into a certain category based on your revenue and then how many days you were closed and impacted," Klementich said. "Some businesses were closed one day, two days, but they were impacted longer."
Klementich added business owners can also request $200 for each employee impacted.
What information do I need to apply?
"Your name, your address, your articles of incorporation, a copy of your business license, an impact statement," Klementich added. "Tell us why or how you were impacted in case it’s not easy for us to see."
What if I need help with the application?
Klementich said technical assistance providers are standing by to help. There are also virtual webinars and in-person meetings.
When do applications close?
The deadline to apply is Monday, July 8, 2024, at 5 p.m.
When do I find out if I got the grant?
Invest Atlanta said business owners will start to receive notifications through the Neighborly application system the week of July 29, 2024.
