Atlanta water crisis Day 7: Busy Midtown road still closed, boil water advisory lifted | Latest updates

11Alive is continuing to keep track of water main breaks and closures throughout the city of Atlanta.

ATLANTA — It's been one week since Atlanta's water crisis began. Although the boil water advisory has been lifted, many residents and businesses are still coping with the impact of the water main breaks.

On Thursday morning, the city said test samples confirmed the water is now safe to drink, but the news is being met with mixed feelings.

11Alive's Bobeth Yates spoke with the Owner of Steamhouse Lounge, Sam Weyman, who said his business had been closed since the massive water main break last Friday.

“We’ve been struggling, and we’re still trying to get open, and we will be open today. I’ve got a full staff, about 30 people coming in, and I just found out that 11th Street is still shut down and West Peachtree is still shut down,” Weyman said.
