List | Here's who has taken a plea deal in the Georgia election RICO case

In all, 19 people were charged in the indictment in August 2023. Four people have taken plea deals since then.

ATLANTA — It was Aug. 14, 2023. That's the day a Fulton County grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump and 18 others in a sweeping RICO case. The defendants are accused of unlawfully interfering with the 2020 presidential election.

In the year that has followed, the case's momentum stalled.

Legal battles over the surprise revelation of a romance between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and a special prosecutor she chose to help lead the case tied the proceedings up in a pre-trial appeal that's currently before the Georgia Court of Appeals. A hearing isn't scheduled until December.

Last year, at least four people took plea deals in the case. Here's a look at the list:

Hall, an Atlanta area bail bondsman, was charged for his involvement in the breach of election system equipment in Coffee County.

On Sept. 29, 2023, he pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with the performance of election duties. His deal required five years of probation, a $5,000 fine, 200 hours of community service and an apology to the citizens of Georgia.

She pleaded guilty on Oct. 19, 2023, to six misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with the performance of election duties. Her deal resulted in six years of probation, a $6,000 fine, $2,700 in restitution to the state of Georgia, and an apology letter.

Chesebro, a Georgia attorney, was charged for his role in the coordination and execution of a plan to have 16 Georgia Republicans submit an illegitimate slate of Electoral College votes for Trump.

He pleaded guilty on Oct. 20, 2023, to a single count of conspiracy to commit filing false documents. He received five years probation. It also resulted in $5,000 restitution, 100 hours of community service and also craft an apology letter to the people of Georgia.

Ellis was an attorney with the 2020 Trump campaign. Ellis was charged for involvement in meetings with state legislators where fraud allegations were lobbied as the campaign sought to convince lawmakers in several states they could convene special sessions to abruptly change state law and give their states' electoral votes to Trump. She pleaded guilty on Oct. 25, 2023, to a single count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings.

She got five years probation, a $5,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and agreed to testify for prosecutors in proceedings. She also read an apology in court.
