$25,000 reward offered following fatal shooting of Paulding County college student in Valdosta area bar

According to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page on Thursday, a citizen put up the reward for 21-year-old Brianna Long.

VALDOSTA, Ga. — A $25,000 reward was offered for details leading to the arrest and conviction of who shot and killed a former Paulding County High School soccer player at a Valdosta-area bar in October.

According to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page on Thursday, a citizen put up the reward for 21-year-old Brianna Long.

Long was a Valdosta State University dental hygiene major from Dallas, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said she was hit by gunfire at The Pier bar in Remerton while closing up with a co-worker.

GBI is investigating Long's death, saying so far it appears the shooting "stemmed from some type of altercation that happened outside The Pier."
