ATLANTA — Don't get too excited yet but, after a dry weekend, metro Atlanta could see a few flurries heading into the final week before the Atlanta Super Bowl.
A front will be moving in on Tuesday with some really cold air behind it - and some moisture. Right now, it looks like the area could see some rain to start which could change over to flurries late morning into the afternoon.
It's still too early to say whether it will also mean accumulation on the ground but either way, it's not the setup for a true snow storm. So be prepared for the white stuff in the sky - but don't get your hopes up for a snowball fight any time soon.
It might not be a bad idea to dress warmly on Wednesday and Thursday since it will be much colder then.
If you're looking further into the week for what we'll get closer to the Super Bowl, it looks like the weather will cooperate so far meaning dry weather for all the festivities in and around Atlanta. However, we still have plenty of time to see the models change between now and Super Bowl weekend.
That's not to say Atlanta hasn't had an interesting history when it comes to the past Super Bowls hosted here - and the weather.
