ATLANTA -- Police have identified the man they say opened fire in a MARTA train on Thursday.
Chauncey Lee Daniels is facing numerous charges, including murder and three counts of aggravated assaulted, after authorities said he shot four people and then exited a MARTA train at the West Lake station around 4:30 p.m.
Daniels, 36, waived his first court appearance on Friday.
On Thursday, MARTA Deputy Police Chief Joseph Dorsey said Daniels got onto the Blue Line train at the Hamilton E. Holmes stop. When the doors closed, witnesses said he began shooting.
One person was killed and three others were injured.

Family members identified the fatal victim as Zachariah Hunnicutt. They believe he may have been targeted by Daniels.
“He worked with him and they had altercations,” said one woman who said her sister was dating the victim. “It was like he was aiming at me, my sister and her boyfriend.”
According to jail records from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Daniels was arrested by Hapeville police in 2012 on drug charges as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction of law enforcement officer.
In Jan. 2016, he was arrested on a criminal trespass charged by East Point police. He was arrested about two weeks later after his sentence was suspended.
