CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A tractor trailer overturned in Cherokee County shut down both directions of Interstate 575, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
The accident occurred at the Lower Bethany Bridge Monday.
One person who drove into the logs sustained minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

The sheriff’s office posted about the wreck on Facebook. It said the tractor trailer had been hauling logs on the bridge, and a photo of the scene appeared to show many of the large logs had fallen onto the interstate below.
They advised motorists to avoid the area as they worked to clean up the scene. The interstate has reopened.
