ATLANTA – An update posted to Tripp Halstead's Facebook page revealed he is now suffering from pneumonia.
According to the update, a team is being assembled to figure out why Tripp continues to get sick.
On Sunday, Tripp Halstead was transported from Athens Regional Hospital to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as he battles with Rhinovirus or the common cold.
Tripp’s mom Stacy updated the over million followers on his Facebook page, Tripp Halstead Updates, Sunday afternoon.
“Tripp is considered a ‘Medically Fragile’ child so having a cold takes on a whole new meaning with kids like Tripp.,” Stacy wrote. “I won’t lie, being in the ICU is always scary with Tripp.”
Tripp was admitted to Athens regional on Saturday for ‘Persistent Aspiration Pneumonia.’ According to posts, after not having the best night he was flown to CHOA.
“Tripp is doing ok,” Stacy wrote. “Oxygen is still not where it needs to be and his heart rate is too high. You can watch his chest go up and down as he is struggling.”
The Halsteads don’t know how long Tripp will be in the CHOA PICU, but they continue to appreciate the prayers and support that come Tripp’s way.
