ATLANTA -- Atlanta entertainment mogul Tyler Perry and a civil rights lawyer have announced a wrongful death lawsuit in connection with the disappearances of two men in Florida.

The men were both reported missing nearly 15 years ago.

The lawsuit alleges former Florida sheriff's deputy Steve Calkins is responsible for the death of Terrance Williams who disappeared in 2003. Calkins allegedly picked him up after his car broke down.

On Wednesday, the lawyer for Williams' mother accused Calkins of murdering her son.

"To be deposed and give a sworn testimony for the first time to answer all the questions that Marcia Williams has for him," he said.

The former deputy was also the last person seen with Felipe Santos, an illegal immigrant who disappeared after being arrested after a fender bender.

Filmmaker Tyler Perry became interested in these cases several years ago. Perry is now offering a $200,000 reward in hopes this will solve the two cold cases.

Calkins was never charged in either case but he was fired for not cooperating with the investigation.
