Scratch one quarterback from the Georgia roster.

On Friday, backup Faton Bauta announced that he has decided to transfer to another school and will not play for the Bulldogs in their opening bowl game set to be announced Sunday afternoon.

Because he is a graduate student, Bauta is now able to transfer to any school and immediately be available to play without sitting out a year.

"In my four years at Georgia, this university and this football program have allowed me to grow as a man and as a football player," Bauta said in a statement. "I cannot thank Coach (Mark) Richt, my coaches and my teammates enough for all they have done for me. I will always be grateful for my time in Athens, my degree from this great university and each week I spent battling with my brothers on the field."

This past year, Bauta played in all 12 games for the Bulldogs, primarily as the holder on special teams, although he did start at quarterback against No. 11 Florida and finished 15-for-33 for 154 yards with four interceptions.

With Bauta gone, that leaves Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey as the only two scholarship quarterbacks for the Bulldogs.

In his career, Bauta completed 19-of-38 passes for 202 yards with 13 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown.
