DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- A seasonal UPS worker has died after an accident at a metro Atlanta distribution center, police confirmed on Friday.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. at 3930 Pleasantdale Rd. That’s where police arrived to found the scene near one of the loading docks.
Police spokesperson Shiera D. Campbell said investigators now believe the worker stepped off the dock and was standing on the ground in front of the dock door as a trailer was being backed into the space.
He was rushed to a local hospital but died from his injuries. Police said the driver said he never felt the impact and had no idea he had hit anyone.
Police are still working to contact family members of the victim and have not yet identified the man, only saying that he is in his late 40s or early 50s due to conflicting reports.
