HOUSTON (KHOU) -- A viral video has been making the rounds around the web, as it shows a man leaving a Walmart "Great Value" brand ice-cream sandwich out in the sun for over an hour. The man in the video says he heard a woman in Cincinnati accidentally left out her ice cream sandwich in the sun, only to find it virtually unchanged.

In this video, the man examines the ice cream sandwich after 20 minutes, 35 minutes and 60 minutes in direct sunlight. At 60 minutes, the only visible change is a clear, opaque liquid oozing from the "ice cream" middle.

A Walmart representative has released a statement regarding claims that the ice cream isn't "real ice cream," saying, "Ice cream melts based on the ingredients including cream. Ice cream with more cream will generally melt at a slower rate, which is the case with our Great Value ice cream sandwiches."

Walmart's ice cream sandwiches contains guar gum and cellulose gum, both used as stabilizers, and both are classified by the U.S. FDA as being safe for consumption.
