ATLANTA -- Authorities confirm that a woman has been taken to the hospital after being in an accident involving an Atlanta Police Department patrol car.
The accident happened early Thursday morning in the area of Peeples Street and Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW in Atlanta.
According to police on the scene, an officer was responding to a call when she got into an accident with the other vehicle. Authorities say the officer had her lights and siren running at the time of the crash.
The officer only suffered minor injuries however, the other driver apparently had substantial injuries to her arm and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation. There's no word at this time if anyone will be charged.
