ATLANTA — Two familiar faces again placed first Thursday morning in the AJC Peachtree Road Race wheelchair division races.
Daniel Romanchuk won his seventh Peachtree in the men's race on a balmy Fourth of July morning, and Susannah Scaroni won the women's race for a fourth time.
Scaroni bested her winning time last year -- as she won the race for the third consecutive year -- by roughly half a minute, coming in unofficially at 21:39. Her time last year was 22:11.
Romanchuk's unofficial winning time clocked at 19:37, just slightly off his pace last year of 19:28.
Both of these dominant Peachtree Road Race competitors are also bound for Paris this year to the Paralympics.
