HAMPTON, Ga. — The Atlanta Motor Speedway revealed several special guests who will be attending and partaking in the festivities of the city's first NASCAR weekend of 2024.
The speedway is hosting its spring weekend on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25.
On Saturday, Atlanta's Craftsman Truck Series/Xfinity Series doubleheader will return at 2 p.m. with the Fr8 208 at 2 p.m. ET and RAPTOR King of Tough 250 at 5 p.m. ET. The NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter Health 400 will headline on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
Who will be at the Ambetter Health 400?
On Sunday, legendary NASCAR broadcaster Doug Rice will serve as the grand marshal, who will give the command for racers to start their engines.
Eric Izquierdo, of Intouch Financial Group, has been named the honorary starter, who will be waving the green flag at the start of the race.
Two-time Georgia Country Female Artist of the Year Mary Kate Farmer will perform the Star-Spangled Banner.
As Farmer performs the national anthem, a pair of F-22s from the 1st Fighter Wing out of Langley Air Force Base will fly over the speedway.
There will also be some pre-race entertainment, including a performance from Georgia native and country music singer Jon Langston.
Before Langston's performance, DJ EU will take the pre-race stage.
"These special guests will play a major role in a fun-filled weekend of racing and entertainment at Atlanta Motor Speedway," a release from the speedway stated.
