An Auburn Athletics photographer took a ball straight to the face at the Auburn-LSU game on Saturday.
Her name is Ashley Ward and she provided the entire backstory to WBRC News' Christina Chambers. She said that she was trying to catch the ball because she made a bet with the manager/management of the Auburn football team. She told them she'd catch it, but she didn't. She caught it with her face instead.
Ward said that she's OK, "just a little red."
At least she can say she's now Internet famous because that video of her getting nailed in the face is going viral, as are her tweets.
