Sound the siren in Dawsonville ... it's that time again!
On Sunday, Georgia native Chase Elliott captured the GEICO 500 title at Talladega Superspeedway – his fourth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory in his last 22 starts.
Elliott posted a race-high of 44 laps led (out of 188) and topped out at a speed exceeding 201 mph; and though he didn't have fastest final lap of the field (under a caution flag), Chase still held off the likes of Alex Bowman (2nd place), Ryan Preece, Joey Logano, Daniel Hemric and Kurt Busch to take the checkered flag.
