PORTLAND, Ore. — Former NBA player Drew Gordon, the older brother of Nuggets power forward Aaron Gordon, has died in a car crash.
The 33-year-old, who is from San Jose, played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014-15 season. In college, he played for New Mexico and UCLA and also played professionally abroad and in the U.S. He had three kids.
The crash happened in Porland, Oregon, according to Marc Spears, senior NBA writer for ESPN.
"The Denver Nuggets organization is devastated to learn about the tragic passing of Drew Gordon," the team said Thursday night.
"Drew was far too young to leave this world, but his legacy will forever live on through his three beautiful children and all of his loved ones. Our hearts are with Aaron and the Gordon family during this extremely difficult time."
The news of Drew's death has spread across social media and the basketball community prompting players, coaches, fans and others to post tributes to him on X.
