ATHENS, Ga. — Calling all Georgia Bulldog fans! The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has unveiled its limited edition bobblehead that honors the university's late mascot.
The bobblehead captures the beloved University of Georgia mascot, Uga X, standing on the school's logo with its tongue out in a playful fashion while sporting a custom-made jersey.
The bulldog, affectionately known as Que, passed away peacefully at his home in Savannah on Jan. 23. He was 10 years old.
Uga X began his reign as UGA's bulldog mascot at the Georgia vs. Georgia Southern football game on Nov. 21, 2015, and retired in April 2023 after becoming the "most decorated of all the Bulldog mascots," according to UGA.
He was the Bulldog mascot who presided over two SEC titles, back-to-back College Football Playoff national championships, and seven New Year’s Six Bowl appearances.
The cost of the bobbleheads is $30, plus shipping. Only 2,023 of the special edition bobbleheads have been produced and each one is individually numbered.
"Bobbleheads are the ultimate way to honor and celebrate a person or mascot, and we think this bobblehead of Uga X is the perfect tribute to his amazing life,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “Uga X is loved throughout the state of Georgia and well beyond by Bulldogs fans, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members who had the privilege of watching and interacting with the beloved bulldog for many years!”
The first batch of bobbleheads sold out Friday morning. However, a second batch is scheduled to arrive in May.
