Dylan Raiola reportedly decommitting from UGA, headed to Nebraska

Raiola is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2024.

ATHENS, Ga. — As one quarterback announced Monday he's staying with the Georgia Bulldogs, another is reportedly leaving before he ever even arrived.

Dylan Raiola, the heralded Buford High quarterback who was committed to Georgia, is now instead going to Nebraska. That comes from a report by ESPN's Pete Thamel, who was told of the decision by Raiola himself.

Raiola had been considered one of the very best quarterback recruits in the Class of 2024, ranked the No. 2 overall recruit in the country by Rivals.

Raiola had committed to Georgia back in May - after he'd committed to Ohio State a year earlier. But a path to starting right away for the Dawgs was cut off after Beck broke out as a star with his first starting opportunity in 2023, the announcing Monday he'd be back for 2024.

Now Raiola is headed to the Cornhuskers.

"I firmly believe that Nebraska is in my blood," Raiola told ESPN's Thamel. Raiola's dad Dominic was a legendary offensive lineman for Nebraska, and his No. 54 is retired by the school.

All is not lost for the Bulldogs, though. They still have the top overall recruit by ESPN's rankings - cornerback Ellis Robinson, as three other star defensive recruits inside the top 50. And they even still have a quarterback - 4-star recruit Ryan Puglisi out of Connecticut.
