ATLANTA — Georgia fans will need to get the tailgates started early for the Bulldogs' season opener of the upcoming college football season against Clemson.

ESPN announced the game time and TV network for the Georgia-Clemson Aflac Kickoff Game that will take place on Aug. 31 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game will kick off at 12 p.m. EST and be televised on ABC.

This will be the 66th all-time meeting between the Dawgs and Tigers -- and the series has been dominated by UGA (43-18-2). Georgia is currently on a two-game winning streak against the Tigers dating back to 2014.

Their last meeting came in 2021 at a neutral site season opener in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium in a game that Georgia won 10-3.

Previously, the two teams last played a home and home in 2013 and 2014. Clemson won the 2013 game in Death Valley 38-35, and UGA won the 2014 game Between the Hedges 45-21.

Georgia played its season opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2022 when the Bulldogs routed the Oregon Ducks 49-3. UGA's last game at The Benz was a 27-24 SEC Championship loss to Alabama.
