Georgia added some speed to its Class of 2020 on Friday night, as the Bulldogs added the commitment of three-star athlete Corey Wren from Louisiana’s John Curtis Christian School.
Wren, who picked up his offer from the Bulldogs in early May, becomes the 14th commitment of the recruiting cycle.
At 5-foot-10, 177-pounds, the rising senior may not be the biggest man on the field, but he is one of the fastest, reporting 100-meter times in the 10.4 range.
"[Georgia] is a great opportunity to compete against top guys that will play on Sunday,” Wren told UGASports.com on Wednesday. “It's a place I can be developed and become an even better football player."
He expects to compete for time at the slot receiver position and should also have an opportunity to make a quick impact on the return game, with the speed that makes him a threat each time the ball is in his hands.
“Georgia is a special place. I can see myself there,” Wren said in May. "[Coach Cortez Hankton]'s a guy who's played in the NFL and can develop my route running. He can help bring my game to another level."
The Bulldogs now have three commitments at the wide receiver for the Class of 2020, with Wren joining Eagles Landings’ Justin Robinson and St. Thomas Aquinas’ (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) Marcus Rosemy.
Earlier in the day, head coach Kirby Smart dismissed starting wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman after the UGA police investigated the wideout for assault charges.
