ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia Bulldogs football team took the No. 1 spot in the Coaches Poll Top 25 Ranking, which was released on Monday, for the second year in a row.

UGA garnered 46 first-place votes, well surpassing No. 2 Ohio State, who pulled in seven such votes.

“I don’t feel like we’re familiar with it because we just don’t pay attention to it,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said, according to Dawg Nation. “I’ve never honestly paid any attention to it, and we don’t talk about it as a team. So the expectation is we’re going to develop and worry about today’s day, and really, we don’t think about that.”

The Bulldogs did not finish No. 1 in last season's coaches poll, but No. 3, following a loss to Alabama in the SEC championship. However, this is the fourth consecutive season the Bulldogs have held a No. 1, dating back to their first national championship in 40 years.
