ATLANTA — The ball for the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech football game on Saturday is on the way to the stadium - by foot.
Members of two different chapters of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity have brought back a pre-pandemic tradition, "Run for the Kids," to benefit Childen's Healthcare of Atlanta.
The 77-mile relay kicked off at 7 a.m. and will go from Athens to Atlanta to deliver the game ball just before kickoff on Saturday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
According to organizers, the last run in 2019 raised $30,000.
