UGA quarterback Brock Vandagriff entering the transfer portal

The 11Alive insiders with UGASports.com confirmed the news Monday.

ATLANTA — UGA's quarterback room is getting a little less crowded, with Brock Vandagriff announcing Monday he will enter the transfer portal.

Vandagriff is now the third player from the team to enter the portal, after linebacker Darris Smith and defensive lineman Jonathan Jefferson. The 11Alive insiders with UGASports.com confirmed the news on Vandagriff on Monday.

Vandagriff posted a letter to social media thanking Dawg Nation and saying his three years at UGA "have played a huge role in my life and will continue to do so down the road."

The Bogart native came to Georgia as a 5-star recruit in the class of 2021.

During the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Vadagriff sat behind players such as JT Daniels, Stetson Bennett, and Carson Beck. He also appeared in five games in those first two years.

In 2023, Vandagriff appeared as the team's top backup in eight games. He completed 12-of-21 passes for 165 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The quarterback said in his farewell letter posted to social media that he'd been "able to accomplish a huge goal of mine, which is graduating from the University of Georgia."

Beck, meanwhile, has not yet decided on whether or not he is returning in 2024, according to UGA sources.
