Snarky UGA players mock Notre Dame's Playoff inclusion on Twitter

Mecole Hardman's Tweet strongly suggests that Notre Dame, despite an unblemished record during the season, still didn't warrant a Playoff bid.

This one deserves a very-loud ZING!

On Saturday afternoon, while presumably watching Clemson vs. Notre Dame from his hotel in New Orleans, UGA receiver Mecole Hardman offered a frank assessment of the College Football Playoff's first semifinal match (below).

Kudos to Hardman for speaking his mind, after undefeated Notre Dame fell behind 23-3 at halftime; and even more kudos for not deleting the snarky, but somewhat-controversial Tweet, which by now, has likely garnered the attention of the Georgia coaching staff.

On second thought, head coach Kirby Smart might have privately chuckled at Hardman's Twitter jab ... even with the public plea of, 'Hey, let's focus on Texas and the Sugar Bowl, please.'

It's been said many times on the 11Alive Sports page:

Georgia's gut-wrenching defeat to Alabama in the SEC title game certainly proved the Dawgs' mettle as a top-4 team nationally.

For all practical purposes. As in ...

In a hypothetical world, could you envision Clemson owning a two-touchdown lead over Alabama (nine days from now)?

Or what about Notre Dame or Oklahoma?

And yet, since we don't have the luxury of parallel universes in college football, the Playoff committee had no tangible ground for choosing a two-loss Georgia squad above Notre Dame.

Or picking a one-loss Big 12 champion (Oklahoma) over a non-champion Dawgs team.

No, unfortunately, the Playoff committee's proverbial hands were tied ... the second LSU crushed UGA by 20 points in mid-October.

Which brings us to this: Apparently, Hardman wasn't some rogue Twitter troll on Saturday.

UGA teammates Jonathan Ledbetter and Terry Godwin quickly joined in the fray ... sending these humorous follow-up Tweets.
