Atlanta woman wins contest to stay overnight in stadium before Super Bowl

Jametta Barden, the contest winner, will have a hotel room fitted out in an Allegiant Stadium suite in Las Vegas and sleep inside the venue ahead of the Super Bowl.

LAS VEGAS — As football fans around Atlanta wake up on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday, roll out of bed and prepare to flip on the TV, one Atlanta will wake up, roll out of bed.... and already be at the game.

No one will have a better hotel in Vegas for the big game than Jametta Barden, who won the "The Ultimate Upgrade" contest with Courtyard by Marriott to transform a stadium suite for her and her son to have an overnight stay the night before the Super Bowl.

"I'm just looking forward to waking up and just being able to look out at the stadium like that is unreal," Barden told KTNV's Bryan Horwath in Las Vegas. "Like that is unreal."

Barden called the contest win "surreal" and said it would be hard to sleep the night before the Super Bowl.

"I probably won't; I'm just thinking about what it will be doing in here," she said.

Barden was the winner out of some 20,000 other contest entrants to be chosen for the overnight stay. She'll also be able to bring her son, Chance Mack, who called Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium "incredible."

Barden, a Falcons fan, said she has always said Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the best in the NFL -- but she was pretty impressed with her digs for the overnight stay.

"We have an amazing stadium," in Atlanta, she said. "But this one is really, really swanky."

Arriving this week in Las Vegas and taking a look at the suite-transformed-into-hotel-room setup, Barden and her son even got to meet Falcons running back Bijan Robinson.

"For the Super Bowl being here right in the middle of the Strip, like, it's gonna be a fun experience for everybody here," he said.

As for the "room" itself -- it looks about like what you'd expect, with a spacious interior, large bed, kitchenette... and a view of the field from about the 10-yard line.
