AUGUSTA, Ga. — An experience at Augusta National Golf Club is unlike any other. Not only is it home to golf's most sacred tournament, but it also includes strict rules for patrons that you don't see at any other golf course.
Patrons are reminded every year just how intimate being a part of the tournament is, and a large part of that is due to the restrictions that Augusta National has in place to create a personal atmosphere.
For starters, there are absolutely no cell phones allowed on course grounds at any time. That doesn't mean you can bring it in and simply not use it -- they are now allowed through the gates. That also goes for tablets, laptops and other electronic devices.
Running on the property is also never permitted.
You may see images of people carrying around digital cameras at Augusta National at certain times. Patrons are allowed to bring in personal cameras to the Masters during practice rounds, which take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during the week.
However, when the tournament gets started on Thursday, there are no cameras allowed whatsoever. You could be kicked off the grounds at Augusta for violating any of the above rules.
You can bring a smartwatch into Augusta National, even during the tournament itself -- you just have to make sure you're not texting or calling anyone while inside.
