AUGUSTA, Ga. — Even at age 48, Tiger Woods is still breaking golf records.

Woods, a five-time winner at Augusta National Golf Club, just set the record for the most consecutive cuts made at the Masters with 24 straight.

Woods' streak dates all the way back to 2000. He passed the previous record that was shared between Fred Couples and Gary Player, although Couples most recently set the record that ran from 1983 to 2007.

  • 24 - Tiger Woods (2000-2024)*
  • 23 - Fred Couples (1983-2007)
  • 23 - Gary Player (1959-1982)
  • 23 - Tiger Woods (1997-2023)
  • 21 - Tom Watson (1975-1995)

Woods shot a 1-over 73 in Round 1 on Thursday at the Masters before piecing together a very solid even round of 72 in Round 2 on Friday, making the cut yet again and getting another chance to play into the weekend at Augusta National.

Much has been made of how Woods has looked out on the golf course this week so far, but he looked very comfortable on Friday as he birdied four holes and bogeyed four holes while shooting par on every other hole to shoot a 36 on both the front and back nine.

Woods was smiling after he putted out at No. 18 as he shared an embrace with Jason Day and Max Homa on the green.

Tiger also holds the Masters record for the largest margin of victory, when a young Woods shot 18-under in 1997 to finish 12 strokes head of Tom Kite. Woods, who was just 21 years old at the time, became the youngest Masters winner at 21 years, 104 days.

Patrons will flock to Tiger once again on Saturday and Sunday at Augusta National -- a tradition unlike any other.
