GRAYSON, Ga. — Grayson four-star athlete Joseph Stone Jr. made his college choice known to the nation Monday night
According to Rivals.com, Stone had 37 offers -- which included the University of Georgia and Lousiana State University. Ultimately, he chose to commit to LSU.
His family came to support him -- dressed in all white -- as Stone said "you get no clue in all white" who he would choose.
The crowd went wild when he made his choice -- but there was a moment when Stone threw everyone off when he picked up an Oklahoma Sooners hat. He then tossed it aside, making the crowd laugh. Someone else then walked up on stage with an LSU cap -- that's when the real commitment was revealed.
He thanked his support system -- his parents, siblings, extended family members, God, and his coaches.
"LSU, the culture down there is different," he said. "You go down there it's like you are stepping in a different world almost. You know the atmosphere is different, you know football is all about the LSU Tigers."
He said it felt like it was the right choice.
"Their plan for me to get me to the league, that's why I chose LSU," he said.
