BUFORD, Ga. — Justin Baker, a star running back at Buford High, announced his commitment to Tennessee in a very creative way Wednesday night.
Baker made his announcement at 7:30 p.m. on 11Alive. During the commitment, he pulled out his phone and FaceTimed with a person. Those watching could hear the voice, but couldn't see the face. That person ended up being Tennessee Volunteers head football coach Josh Heupel, who welcomed Baker to UT during the commitment.
According to Rivals, Baker is a 4-star recruit with offers from schools including Michigan, UGA, Alabama, Colorado, Florida and Arkansas. Rivals reports he has 18 offers in all, and in recent weeks he's posted on social media about visits to South Carolina, Tennessee and Auburn.
The website's "FutureCast" pegs him as a future Wolverine - with the "FanCast" split between Michigan and Georgia.
"Blessed, come and support!" Baker wrote on X over the weekend of his commitment ceremony.
