ATLANTA — Todd Gurley served the Atlanta Falcons well during the 2020 campaign.
He rushed for 678 yards and nine touchdowns after playing in 15 games.
The Falcons signed him as a free agent to a one-year deal going into last season. They now have to decide if they want to resign the former Georgia Bulldog standout. Should they?
Locked On Falcons host Aaron Freeman was joined by Allen Strk to discuss which free agents the Falcons should bring back next year.
For Strk, the answer is clear.
“With Gurley, there is just no juice there," he said. "I was really impressed with Gurley in October. But from - I would say - the Bears game to the first half of the Lions game, I was really impressed. But ever since that Lions game, that second half collapse there, I believe he was a big part of that."
Strk said he thought Gurley had bad decision making and poor situation awareness, and had trouble running in-between the tackles.
"When you watch him run the ball, nothing really stands out,” Strk said. “I just don’t see any reason why you would want to bring back Gurley.”
