ATLANTA — Only hours after introducing free agent signee Will Smith, the Atlanta Braves announced they are resigning another key bullpen piece.
Pitcher Chris Martin returns to the team on a two-year contract worth $14 million. According to the team, he will make $7 million in each season.
Martin, 33, came to the Braves last season at the July 31 trading deadline. He was 1-1 with a 4.08 ERA in 20 games with the Braves.
The Braves now have 39 players on the club’s 40-man roster.
