ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves will debut a new expanded children's zone ahead of the 2025 season, the team announced Wednesday, with the 30,000-square-feet Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Park.
The team said in a release the park will be located in the Left Field Plaza between the Truist Park Left Field Gate and Third Base Gate, and be able to "accommodate more than twice as many families as the existing Hope & Will’s Sandlot."
For breaking live coverage and news conferences you can download 11Alive+, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.
In addition to being open for gamedays, the Braves say the park will be accessible at The Battery for non-gameday events and activities.
The Braves highlighted several features of the new park:
- Rock-climbing tower, batting cages and "other interactive play experiences."
- Blooper's Clubhouse, where fans can meet and take photos with the team mascot Blooper.
- New Hope & Will's sandlot, a "kid-sized ball field featuring a scaled model of Truist Park’s outfield wall for organized and pick-up games."
- 480-square foot video board and lawn seating that "will allow families to play without missing any of the Braves action." There will also be increased shade, cooling misters and restrooms.
- Concessions and kid-focused merchandise on site.
“Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is excited to renew our partnership with the Braves and continue our support for families throughout Braves Country,” Linda Matzigkeit, Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, said in a statement. “Children’s is not only the leading place for pediatric care, but we are also fully dedicated to improving the lives of children in our community. The new Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Park provides a great opportunity for us to deliver on that commitment to be a part of kids’ lives – both when they are sick, and when they are healthy.”
