ATLANTA — A Griffin school's field got a makeover from the Atlanta Braves, according to the team on Friday.

The field was revealed to students at Griffin High School on Thursday. It shows off a brand new covered batting cage and outfield windscreens for both the baseball and softball fields. The Braves, in partnership with Truist, also donated Nike-branded team apparel, cleats and travel bags to both teams.

This comes after the facility was damaged by a tornado in 2023.

"The Braves and Truist are committed to providing local parks and recreation centers, schools, and youth organizations with field improvements and brand-new equipment to level the playing field and increase playability, safety, and accessibility for young athletes in neighborhoods throughout Metro Atlanta and across Braves Country," the team said in part.

This is all part of the Braves Park Project, and Griffin High School is the second high school to benefit from the program. Others include:

  • Rosa L. Burney Park
    • Dugout benches
    • Scoreboard
    • Batting cage
