ATLANTA (AP) — Outfielder Jeff Francoeur is returning to the Atlanta Braves.

The team announced Monday evening that Francoeur has agreed to a one-year minor league contract for the 2016 season and will report to big league spring training.

The team announced the decision in a press release and on it's Twitter account (to the delight of many Braves fans).

A 32-year-old Atlanta native, Francouer started his career with the Braves in 2005, making a huge splash as a rookie but failing to become the star many projected. He was traded to the New York Mets in 2009 and bounced around to five teams before returning to his original organization.

Francoeur spent the 2015 season with Philadelphia, hitting .258 with 13 home runs and 45 RBI in 119 games.

Originally drafted 23rd by the Braves in 2002, the outfielder joined the major leagues with the Braves in 2005.

Atlanta hold its first full-squad workout on Thursday.
