DENVER — "Saturday Night Live" had a little fun at Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders' expense in its Oct. 14 season premiere.
Veteran "SNL" cast member Kenan Thompson portrayed Coach Prime on the program's "Weekend Update" segment, dressed in Sanders' trademark hoodie, baseball cap and sunglasses.
In the sketch, an over-confident Sanders boasted about his team winning "every game."
When anchor Colin Jost pointed out that the team has a 4-3 record, Sanders claimed his team "has it all."
"Coaching? Genius. Offense? Explosive. Defense? Trying. It's a complete package, man," the fictional Sanders said.
The sketch poked fun at the Buffaloes' double-overtime loss to Stanford Friday night.
"Wasn't that crazy? We were up 29-0 at the half," SNL's version of Sanders said. "So I went home and fell asleep. I woke up this morning shocked as anyone."
Colorado is off next week and returns to the field at UCLA on Oct. 28.
