UGA tight end Isaac Nauta leaving school early for NFL draft

Nauta offers impressive size, dependable hands, and good speed to NFL talent-evaluators, along with solid route-running acumen.

UGA tight end Isaac Nauta will next be taking his talents to Nashville ... the site of the upcoming NFL draft.

The draft-eligible junior made his pro intentions clear on Friday, through a long Twitter post, thanking Bulldogs fans and everyone associated with the Georgia program.

At 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, Nauta offers impressive size, dependable hands, good agility and vertical speed to NFL talent-evaluators, along with solid route-running acumen.

That's the good news.

On the down side, this year's crop of tight end prospects appears to be deep, potentially hindering Nauta's chances of exceeding his advisory-board draft slot.

In 2018, Nauta corralled 30 passes for 430 yards and three receiving scores. For the Tennessee game in October, Nauta famously scooped up the strip-sack fumble involving UGA quarterback Jake Fromm ... and then ran 31 yards for the opening touchdown.
