A second-grader at Welch Elementary School in Newnan has captivated the world of college football this week ... by escalating a good-natured war of words with her teacher.
Back in late August, Claire Stanford began the practice of writing "Go Georgia Bulldogs" on her homework assignments, as a means of expressing her Dawgs devotion and perhaps getting under the skin of her teacher, a proud Alabama alum.
The teacher responded by stamping young Claire's homework with a "Roll Tide" emblem, essentially drawing the battle lines for a potential UGA-Alabama clash for the SEC championship.
Fast forward to the present ...
Even though Claire and her Tide-loving teacher agreed to a truce photo on Twitter (above) ... the teacher at Welch still had one final card to play, in the runup to Saturday's monster matchup.
